The Artane Boys ‘ Band play.

The first note is struck

Founded in 1872, the Artane Boys’ Band played at their first GAA event, the Whit Monday games on June 14 at the North Circular Road grounds. They were considered such an integral part of the GAA that it was sent to New York in 1947 to play before the All-Ireland final that year. In 2004, they were renamed Artane Band, to reflect the inclusion of girls in the band.
