1925 Mayo’s false start

Posted by Editor
Sunday 18 October 1925

Galway have the last laugh.

Mayo’s false start

Galway beat Mayo to win the Connacht championship in October this year but it was a remarkable sequence of events that got us that far. Mayo had uncontested made it to the All-Ireland semi-final and beat Wexford and were briefly declare champions when Kerry and Cavan were both disqualified due to objections. Eventually Galway won the Connacht and end up lifting the Sam Maguire for the first time.
